“No matter how much pressure you feel at work, if you could find ways to relax for at least 5 minutes every hour, you’d be more productive.” Dr. Joyce Brothers
This isn’t so much an inspirational quote as it is a practical truth. When we feel overloaded or frantic at work, the first reaction is usually to put our heads down further and continue to grind it out, hoping that more work will solve the problem. In fact, the opposite is the best strategy. When your schedule fills up and stress pays an unwelcome visit, that’s exactly when you should step back and regroup. Regular relaxation not only helps you focus on what’s important, it gives your mind and body a break. You can get more done in 45 minutes with a clear mind than you could in an hour or more with a clouded, distracted, anxious mind. It doesn’t take much, just a few minutes here and there. Find reasons to get away from your workstation and stay on your feet. Don’t wait until stress wears you down.
